The Academy of
Aviation & Aerospace
Introduction
The Aerospace Academy is a STEM academy, preparing students for Aerospace industry through practical application of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students learn fundamentals of principles of flight, aircraft fabrication and mechanics, engineering, unmanned aircraft system (UAS) piloting, and practice simulated flight. Students have opportunity for nationally recognized industry certification in engineering applications including Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks 2020. Embry-Riddle enrolled students have opportunity to earn Small UAS Safety Certification and potentially part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot certification. St. Augustine High School has established an approved airspace, Area 17, where students can fly licensed unmannedaircraft systems (“drones”).
