PMHS Academy of Architectural Design & Technology

Mr Nunamaker’s students had a fantastic hands-on learning experience! Reverse engineering the pier gave the students a deep understanding of its structure and functionality. Using AutoDesk software to make improvements was a great way to apply modern technology to real-world problems.

The Pedro Menendez High School Building Construction program hosted a nail driving competition for our fabulous special education classes last week.  Students learned how to safely and efficiently drive nails then competed against each other on who could drive a nail the fastest.  Our special education students were excited to learn from their peers.

Students in the Drafting class at Pedro Menendez High School’s Academy of Architecture and Building Science made bulletin boards showcasing what the future can hold for them if they want to pursue jobs in Architecture or Engineering after graduating from PMHS.  It covered Industry Certifications, nearby colleges/universities and related majors, and careers including salary information. 

The Pedro Menendez High School Masonry Team competed in a Regional Masonry Showcase in Starke, Florida againstother students from NE Florida.   From the girls team, Kaylee Folckemer, I’Leisha Smith, and Sydney George will be advancing to the Skills USA State Competition. Northrup Grumman Aviation donated a greenhouse to the Environmental Education class at Gamble Rogers Middle School as part of the school’s Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) program.
