Congratulations to Mr. Justin Cooler, Advanced Television Production teacher at Nease High School! He was recently selected as the high school’s Rookie Teacher of the Year. This is Mr. Cooler’s second year teaching, and runs the national-award-winning Wired newscast. In his first year as an instructor, he led his class to win the title of “Best Daily Taped High School Newscast in the Southeastern United States,” as determined by the Student Television Network. At the national STN convention, his student team won first place in the “Morning Show” category. For 2017-18, Mr. Cooler upgraded the studio cameras in Nease’s professional-grade news studio and built a cyclorama, to allow greenscreen capabilities. We wish Mr. Cooler good luck as he vies for the St. Johns County Rookie Teacher of the Year title in January.
