St. Johns Technical High School’s Academy of Coastal and Water Resources students are participating in job shadowing careers at local area water utilities. St. Johns County Utilities and the City of St. Augustine are hosting this valuable program in which Intermediate and Advanced Environmental Water Technologies students learn alongside water utility employees.
Last year, St. Johns County Utilities showcased careers in its Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities, the Environmental Lab and Customer Service. This year, the program has expanded to include the City of St Augustine’s Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities. Students learn first-hand what it takes to succeed in water industry careers. The students also gain an understanding and an appreciation in protecting this most precious resource.
