Students in the Academy of Culinary Arts at St. Johns Technical High School prepared a jambalaya dinner for 100 homeless individuals as a part of the Dining with Dignity program organized by the St. Johns County Homeless Coalition on August 30, 2016. The students not only prepared the food, but helped deliver it, set it up, serve it and cleaned up after the meal. The meal received excellent reviews. We couldn’t have been more proud of our students and Chef Sherry Gaynor! The students enjoyed it so much, they will be doing it again in November and January. Service Learning at its best!
