At St. Johns Technical High School, learning goes far beyond the classroom—and into the heart of our community. This school year, the Academy of Culinary Arts has been invited to participate in the Dining with Dignity program, a compassionate initiative led by Home Again St. Johns that provides hot meals to unsheltered individuals in our area.
On seven evenings throughout the year—and potentially more when other groups are unavailable—our talented Culinary Academy students will plan, prepare, and serve dinners and desserts for approximately 100 people in need. This hands-on experience is more than just cooking; it’s a powerful form of project-based learning that teaches teamwork, empathy, and real-world skills.
Each event is an opportunity for students to:
- Collaborate on menu planning and food preparation
- Practice hospitality and service in a meaningful setting
- Build confidence and workforce readiness
- Contribute to a positive school culture rooted in kindness and community
We’re proud of our students for embracing this opportunity to make a difference. Their dedication and heart reflect the values we strive to instill every day at St. Johns Technical High School.
