Creekside High School has the largest CyberPatriot Program in the United States with 15 teams competing. The CyberPatriot competition is a National Youth Cyber Defense Competition that puts teams of high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services and solving forensics questions—All in a six-hour period.
Concluding in the Florida competition, CHS had one team who placed 1st the in the State in the Platinum tier (the highest) and another team who qualified in the gold tier. Competing against over 3000 teams around the nation in the last round, Creekside’s Platinum team scored 72nd! Congratulations to all the students!
