Students in the Environmental Science strand of the Academy of Engineering and Environmental Science at Creekside High School received a grant from the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Blue School Grants Program in 2017 – 18 along with 9 other schools in the Water Management District. These funds were used to pay for the students to do field studies to assess the water quality along the St. Johns River and discern why certain areas have become polluted.
