Students in the Academy of Innovation in the Built Environment had a busy week last week. Construction Design and Technique students (year 2) competed in a Nail Drive hosted by the North Florida Builders Association. Students were able to learn about apprenticeship opportunities in our local community and then went head to head against their peers trying to perfectly sink nails in a speed challenge.
Students in Construction Management Foundations (year 1) spent the week perfecting their cutting skills. Evidence that they could accurately measure and cut came in the form of a perfectly assembled birdhouse. For many students this was their first time using a miter saw.
