Accounting Students in the VyStar Academy of Business

We started off the year with collaboration exercises so the students and our new instructor could get to know each other.

The students were introduced to Computer Essentials which included Bits/Bytes, the History of Computing, and the Binary System.

We have started the journey towards our Microsoft Office Specialist Exam, where they have learned how to create documents using the clipboard, modifying fonts, and formatting paragraphs.

Accounting began with learning the Accounting Equation.

They learned what is classified as an Asset, Liability, and Owner’s Equity, and how different transactions change the Accounting Equation.

We are currently analyzing transactions into Debit and Credit parts using T Accounts.

Accounting 2 resumed with Accounting for Purchases and Cash Payments, interpreting, analyzing and entering data into Purchases Journals, Subsidiary Ledgers, Vendor Accounts, and Cash Payment Journals.

We are currently Accounting for Sales and Cash Receipts, Sales on Account, Credit Card Accounts, and Posting from Cash Receipt and Sales Journals.
