Nease Engineering Academy Students Take Part in Deck the Chairs Holiday Event

For the second year in a row, seniors in the Stellar Academy of Engineering are taking part in the Deck the Chairs charity holiday event.  Students are provided with a full-sized lifeguard chair, and tasked with dressing it up for the holidays while representing an assigned theme. This year, with the education-based chairs on display outside the Jacksonville Zoo, each school was assigned an animal.  Nease’s animal is the gorilla.  Students designed the look of the chair and all of the components (with the exception of a giant inflatable gorilla), utilizing design software and the equipment in Nease’s Engineering Academy classroom.  One of our students even created an original gorilla-based game that can be played online by scanning a QR code posted in front of the chair.  All of the Deck the Chairs entries will be on display from November 27th until January 1st.  If you visit the Jacksonville Zoo during the holiday season, be sure to keep an eye out for an inflatable gorilla and all his friends!
