2023 VyStar Reality Fair
On September 28th over 200 academy students participated in the VyStar Reality Fair. During the fair students assume they are 25 years old and are the primary or sole support of their household. After being assigned a family scenario, a credit score, an occupation, and monthly gross income participants make routine deductions for taxes and medical insurance. Using sample checks and transaction registers, they learn how to record and manage their personal budget. They move from one station to another in the simulation, making spending choices. Thank you to our volunteers at VyStar, Leonard’s Photography and our school district for covering a booth and helping our students learn how to make the best buying decisions.
