The Ponte Vedra High School Academy of Biotechnology & Medical Research recently visited the Proteomics Core Facility at The University of Florida in Gainesville. Students were able to apply some of their classroom studies as they learned how researchers identify unknown proteins using mass spectrometry.
Later in the day, the Academy students visited the Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator where upstart companies are given support to develop new products. This a place where ideas can become a reality and the students were able to see how what they are learning can apply to a future career.
