Nease’s News Show Wins National Excellence Award

We are so excited to share some excellent news from Nease’s Wired news staff, a part of the Communications Academy program. Wired is once again the winner of a National Broadcast Excellence Award from the Student Television Network!  Instructor Justin Cooler’s students submitted our broadcast news shows to STN back in December, which was judged against other high school broadcasts.  Over the weekend, as a group of 17 Wired Students competed virtually in the National Convention for the Student Television Network, they found out that we were selected as a Broadcast Excellence Winner….making us one of the top 8 school news programs in the nation!  It’s a pretty big deal and a ton of students put in effort to make that happen.

Also of note, they took home a first place award for the “personal vlog” competition as part of the STN competition that took place over the weekend of February 18th-20th.

Congratulations to Nease’s Wired Broadcast News Staff!
