CSX helped students in the Academy of Leadership in Emerging Technologies take the field for a morning full of flying drones and operating Spot, the quadruped robot. Students were able to take the controls over drones that are actually used at the commercial level and are far more advanced than the drones students are currently using in the classroom. CSX jumped in to help solve that problem as well by donating three drones to the program. This donation will allow students to practice using drones capable of going further, faster, and with commercial applications. Students were able to ask questions from actual operators and see how drones and robots are both being used by CSX. Students were asked to continue to think innovatively and push boundaries.
