Congratulations to the Nease Communications Academy students who represented Wired, The Vertical, and IB Film at the 2026 Florida Scholastic Press Association conference and competition! Our Wired filmmakers added another honor to their already award-winning Jacksonville Zoo Manatee River short film, earning an All Florida, Best of the Best award! Students from across all three programs came together to compete in the Director’s Cut competition at the state conference. This is a high-pressure event where teams received a script at 3 p.m. and had just six hours to plan, film, and edit a finished piece. Nease brought home third place! Competing against nearly 1,500 students from across the state, their work stood out at every level.
