Each summer, hundreds of Career Academy students participate in summer internships with businesses across our community. For the Communications Academy Sports Media Program at Nease, Select Media, the production company for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp has been an amazing internship location. Year after year, they have trained Nease students in real-life sports broadcasting technology. And for students like Senior Luke Kleist, who impressed his bosses during his internship, that training has become a paying job after the summer internship ended. Now Luke runs the replay machine at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp games. If you’re at a game, you can spot him in the broadcast booth, working alongside sports media professionals.
